Justin Brock: Taking Rains to The Next Level?

When you say Student -Athlete, you should automatically think of Justin Brock. From Rains high school in a small town in East Texas, Brock takes his studies serious! He carries with him a 4.0 GPA along with scoring a 26 on his ACT. If that is not enough he took home with him 1st Team All-District at PG.

We got to ask his head basketball coach (Coach Timmons) some questions about Justin.

Aside from basketball what makes Justin an attractive recruit?

Justin is a very intelligent student that works hard. He understands the importance of education. He is currently carrying a 99.97 GPA which has him ranked 2nd last time I checked.

Physically what are his strengths on the court?

Physically on the court his strengths would be conditioning and handling the ball with the point of getting others in a position to score. What makes him dangerous is he knocks down mid range and deep shots. We were able to break and score out of Dallas Madisons press because of how he handled and passed out of the traps. As far as conditioning is concerned, Justin is a multiple sport athlete here at Rains. He runs cross country and is a regional qualifier for it.

What is your message to college coaches about Justin?

My message to college coaches about Justin would be he is well worth the time. He is a hard worker who wants to get better. He is a kid that will go above and beyond what he is asked. He is intelligent and a natural leader. He is a "yes sir", "no sir" guy that is in the gym before games shooting before and after practice. He lives basketball.

We asked Justin why he loved the game of basketball? His answer, " I love the game because of the competition and the love of the game. I've grown up playing it so the love has always been there. Another reason is it's a way for me and my parents to talk and spend time together".

College Coaches, as you can see Justin would be an asset to a college program. Where can you find him? In a small town in East Texas called Emory Rains, probably in they gym or someplace studying.

Justin Brock hits a jumper this past season during district play.
